Job Description

Actuarial Manager Location Remote : The Actuarial Manager is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and strategic direction of the actuarial team within the organization. This role requires a blend of technical actuarial expertise and strong leadership skills to drive the team towards achieving organizational objectives. The candidate must be capable of handling complex analyses while also managing and developing a team of professionals. RESPONSIBILITIES Staff Management and Development
  • Managing and developing the actuarial team.
  • Setting goals, recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Providing training and coaching to new hires and existing staff.
Project and Work Evaluation
  • Guiding analysis on high-profile, strategic, or complex cases.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses.
  • Ensuring timely completion of projects and tasks.
Support and Guidance
  • Offering advice on actuarial reporting and analysis.
  • Supporting enterprise alignment and enhancement activities.
  • Contributing to departmental planning for staffing and training.
Communication and Presentation
  • Presenting actuarial analyses and methodologies to internal and external customers.
  • Communicating updates on methodologies, procedures, or regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS Experience and Credentials
  • 8 or more years actuarial experience with a bachelor's degree.
  • 1 or more years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Actuarial experience in dental or healthcare.
  • Achieved ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) credentials.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • In-depth knowledge of actuarial concepts, practices, and statistical applications.
  • Understanding of database design and structure.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in Excel and SQL.
Base Pay Information The national base pay range at the end is a good faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications, and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $133,300 - $260,000 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Rewards to make you smile!
