About the Opportunity:
We're seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Healthcare Billing and Follow-Up Specialist to join our team on a temporary, 12-week contract basis, with the potential for permanent employment. If you have a passion for ensuring accurate and timely healthcare payments and excel in navigating the complexities of insurance claims, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
In this role, you'll be instrumental in managing hospital and physician billing, focusing on follow-up with both commercial and government payers. You'll be responsible for diligently pursuing payments, resolving denials, handling appeals, and conducting thorough research to ensure optimal revenue cycle performance.
Work Arrangement:
This position offers a hybrid work model. You'll begin with four weeks of on-site training to ensure a smooth onboarding process. Following this initial period, you'll transition to primarily remote work, with occasional on-site days as needed.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
One Saturday per month: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a high volume of claims efficiently and accurately on a daily basis.
Proactively follow up with insurance companies to determine claim status and resolve issues.
Take appropriate action to expedite claim payments, adhering to established policies and procedures.
Prepare and send necessary correspondence to resolve outstanding claims.
Maintain meticulous and timely documentation for all accounts.
Qualifications:
A combination of education and experience in healthcare revenue cycle management.
Strong understanding of commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, VA, Tricare, and Workers' Compensation payers.
Proven experience in insurance follow-up; billing knowledge is highly valued.
Fluency in both English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking).
Required Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for insurance claims.
Working knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Experience with anesthesia billing and follow-up is a plus, but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to navigate and work within multiple client systems.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Strong focus on achieving individual, team, and organizational goals.

Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
Outstanding customer service and telephone skills.
Ability to handle high call volumes.

Working knowledge of personal computers and automated dialer systems.
Knowledge of all related regulations including but not limited to individual client policies, procedures and HIPAA.
