Job Description

Description Since its inception, the Amazon Smart Vehicles vision has been to provide engaging voice-first experiences that delight customers, keep them informed, entertained, and productive while in their vehicles. To realize the vision, we offer software products and services that automakers, app and skill developers use to turn vehicles to Alexa multimodal endpoints, and allow developers to build experiences that enable customers to incorporate their vehicles into their digital lives from wherever they are. Alexa Auto's products and services address automaker challenges and end-customer needs, but more is required, we've extended our vision to encompass the entire digital cabin with project Quattro. With Quattro we extend current Alexa Auto products and services provide automakers to a full digital cabin solution that includes connected experiences, we leverage Amazon's core assets (Alexa, AWS, Advertising, Shopping, Ring, Fire TV, and others) to offer a One-Amazon solution that enables our partners to build comprehensive solutions within and outside the vehicle. This role manages the global Amazon Smart Vehicles (ASV) product portfolio, responsible for building our ASV Software and Services, to scale our business in support of ASV's partners and our long-term business plan. The core customers of the program are both the end users and our automotive partners, operating in all Alexa core locales and supporting non-Alexa locales with reduced scope. The role is complex due to the rapid scaling of the business, diversification of products, the large pool of partners required to support the business and associated products, the breadth of vehicle platform managed, and multiple types of technology employed to enable the business, from embedded SW, to cloud solutions and financial services. The team manages the following primary functions: 1) digital cabin embedded SW, 2) Alexa automotive cloud, 3) Search and Navigation, 4) E2E customer experience, 5) Pay 4 X services (EV Charge, Parking, Fuel, Payment services etc.), 6) 3P developer experience, and 7) Revenue collection and Automation. The org is comprised of 30 PMT 's (L6 & L7), and 4 PMT Senior managers. Key job responsibilities - Owns and communicates the long-term vision and goals that drive the working backwards strategies for an ASV, that supports the broader organizational vision - Develops culture of experimentation and innovation to solve core customer needs in the product domain - Influences investment choices that will cultivate long-term innovation - Owns business planning (e.g.: OP1 and QPR) - Owns 3-5-year view and complete portfolio, makes trade-off decisions for ASV - Determines release goals, prioritizes features according to customer value, and adjusts throughout implementation - Prepares launch and monitors marketing, distribution and, registrations - Identifies issues that will keep the product from delivering on time and/or with the desired requirements and communicates to sr. management; assesses the alternatives to resolve ("path to green") and builds a plan for resolution; makes recommendations that will meet the goals and may directly implement resolution plans - Understands company-wide assets and is able to align leadership of dependent teams on necessary structural and/or resource changes to deliver ASV goals - Ensures customer and business goals are in line with customer requirements - Demonstrates ability to attract senior talent and multiple functions from inside and outside of company A day in the life The role is heavy on internal & external influence and requires building relationships with, and influencing/negotiating with, C-suite and product organizations of a dozen major vehicle OEMs (e.g., Ford, Stellantis, JLR, Rivian, and VW), Services Companies (e.g., Citco, Parkopedia, EvGo), Connect Providers (e.g., Spotify, and Netflix). Internally Alexa and Vega are complex and this role manages requirements and backlogs across Alexa and DSS, and beyond into AWS and Music. The role manages specifically the products for Alexa Auto, Quattro and ASV's business enablers. About the team The team plays a critical role in delivering our three key 2023/4 themes 1. The base pay for this position ranges from $237,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $350,000/year in our highest geographic market.
