Job Description

Framing Carpenter Location Grand Rapids, MI (Westside Connection area) :

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing and understanding blueprints to determine structural framework and how to construct it.
• Attaching building materials using nails, screws, nuts, and bolts per building codes.
• Installing window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, and exterior trim using a carpenter's level and laser levels.
• Erecting temporary structures such as scaffolds and safety using ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
• Studying specifications in blueprints or building plans to prepare project layout and determining dimensions and materials required.
• Accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping lumber, wood, and other building materials.
• Following established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Examining building materials to identify any defects.
• Providing excellent customer service.

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma with valid driver's license
• No previous experience necessary
• On the job training - ambitious and willing to learn

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
