Miller Chemical and Fertilizer, LLC, is a global leader in the manufacture and distribution of crop adjuvants, plant growth regulators, nutritional fertilizers and specialty agrochemicals with an 84 year heritage, has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Technical Services & Quality Assurance Specialist in Hanover, PA. Miller currently operates in more than 90 countries and we intend to significantly grow our business over the next few years.  

Purpose of the Job:

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for quality assurance for all production at Hanover plant. The Technical Services & Product Quality Assurance Specialist will also help to maintain product registrations and compliance to ensure product & site regulations are met. They will be the primary focal point for any technical questions on product formulations. They will manage all raw material and product specifications and handle customer complaints related to product quality.

The Technical Services & Quality Assurance Specialist will report directly to Director of Product Technology.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance

• Prepare, implement, and document quality assurance policies and procedures
• Perform routine quality control testing to ensure products are meeting set standards. Document and address any quality issues
• Help in scale up of products to production
• Work with and support the production team with any technical needs and product questions including but not limited to formulation issues, product rework, etc.
• Support qualification of raw materials and formulation specifications
• Manages the lab equipment and its maintenance
• Conducts/co-ordinates lab analyses for products and product chemistry related studies
• Testing of onsite raw materials

  Sales Technical Support

• Investigate customer complaints pertaining to product performance and conduct root cause analysis
• Send product samples out for testing, product trials or to customers
• Support technical questions from the sales staff

Compliance

• Serves as the technical support for product re-registration and organic certifications. Complete analysis for labels and registrations, derived from statements
• Supports updating of product safety data sheets
• Creates and provide technical documents (Domestic and International) such as Quality Certificate of Analysis, CSF etc.
• Provide assistance with EPA, TSCA, DHS, OSHA, REACH, TRI, Tier II reporting and compliance forms as required in order to maintain uninterrupted business operation

Experience & Competencies Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field with 3+ years of experience in specialty chemicals or related industry
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment with excellent data collection and analysis skills
• Identifies and analyzes problems and develops appropriate solutions.
• Ability to successfully partner with team members and stakeholders (sales, operations, R&D, regulatory, etc.) from multiple backgrounds
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Power Point is a must

Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as an applicant's skills, performance, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.

U.S. Market-Based Salary Range

[$20.00 - $20.00]

In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
