Job Title: Judaic Pedagogical Coordinator
Full-time (part-time considered)
Supervisor: Director of Early Childhood Education

Position Summary:  

The Judaic Pedagogical Coordinator works in close collaboration with the Director of Early Childhood Education and administrative team to support teachers in implementing high-quality, constructivist Jewish early childhood education.  The Judaic Pedagogical Coordinator will use a variety of educational tools and approaches including relationship based coaching, technical assistance, and reflective practice to ensure that learning environments, curriculum, and classroom interactions are inspired by Jewish traditions and aligned with our school’s emergent and child-centered philosophy. This individual serves as a key leader in curriculum planning, teacher growth, and building meaningful connections between school, family, and Jewish life. The Judaic Pedagogical Coordinator will be a vital team member and be willing and able fill in any role within the school as necessary including being in all classrooms.  This is a highly collaborative role.

Primary Responsibilities:

Providing professional development opportunities: 

• Create and facilitate professional development experiences for staff focused on: seamlessly integrating Judaics (holidays, traditions, Hebrew, rituals, culture)  into a constructivist educational philosophy. 
• Work in partnership with teachers’ to support professional growth by modeling experiences and interactions in classrooms
• Provide support for educators to create environments that foster children’s physical, social, cognitive and emotional development and growth and are differentiated to meet each child’s (physical, emotional and developmental) needs. 
• Work collaboratively with teachers to set and achieve goals. Create strategies and systems that support teachers to develop autonomy and ability to remediate challenges.  
• Create and maintain a library of resources for teachers.

Technical Assistance:

• Support teachers in creation of documentation
• Support teachers in writing Remini posts that align with Temple Sinai Preschool’s vision and mission around communicating with families and learning environments. 
• Support teachers in writing Learning Stories. 
• Monitor and ensure that conference materials and assessments are complete.
• Collaborate with teachers to create and maintain a materials library that includes open-ended, natural and diverse materials. 
• Coordinate with the school’s Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant to assist teachers in implementation of support strategies for individual children and the classroom as a whole.

Reflective Practice: 

• Engage in regular classroom visits to support teacher reflection and documentation
• Provide ongoing support to teachers to improve their capacities for observing and listening to children, documenting learning and conducting their own research.
• Support teachers, in collaboration with the Director, to develop individual growth plans with goals and objectives and appropriate resources to meet those goals.
• Work in collaboration with the Director of Early Childhood Education to facilitate monthly team meetings. 
• Engage in ongoing personal learning and stay current on research and best practices in Jewish early learning and pedagogy.

Work in Collaboration with the Administrative Team:

• Support compliance with all Colorado State childcare licensing regulations and Colorado Shines, and Colorado health code guidelines.
• Attend all required meetings and training for the school and community initiatives when appropriate.
• Work closely with the administrative team to implement classroom policies and support teachers through regular performance evaluation, feedback, and shared accountability.
• Partner with the administrative team to ensure that the core values of the school are being reflected in every day relationships and practice.
• In an emergency situation, work with the administrative team to respond to any urgent matters if the Director or Assistant Director is not available.
• Promote reflective practice, a growth mindset and convey professionalism in the team environment. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience working with children ages of 1 - 5.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Jewish traditions, rituals, and values, and ability to integrate them meaningfully into the early learning school environment.
• Must have at least 5 years of in-depth knowledge and work experience with Constructivist, Emergent, or Reggio Emilia approach and/or coaching. 
• Demonstrated effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; customer-service orientation with specific strength in diplomacy and discretion strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.  
• Fluency in using online documentation and communication tools (Remini, Procare, Brightwheel, Google Suite)
• In depth knowledge of learning stories, reflective practice and relationship based coaching practices

Compensation and benefits:

Compensation: $26–$30 per hour, depending on education and experience
