Under the general direction of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Staff Services Manager I, the Compliance Analyst will complete a variety of mandated, complex, analytical, tracking and monitoring tasks in support of the Fraud and Error compliance functions per State Administrative Manual (SAM) 20080. The incumbent will be responsible for tracking, monitoring and reporting incidents of loss or error. In addition, the analyst will develop, coordinate, evaluate, train, track and monitor the SAM 20080 mandated policies, procedures, requirements, and information developed and issued by authoring agencies which include the Department of Finance (DOF). Through collaboration with Caltrans executives, managers and supervisors, the Compliance Analyst will assist the Caltrans Chief Risk Officer and Caltrans Office of the Inspector General to submit the information that is required to be reported to DOF while ensuring the department is in alignment with Caltrans' strategic goals and objectives.

Working Conditions

Position located at 1120 N Street Sacramento, Ca 95814.

This is a Limited Term position which may be extended to 24 months or become permanent

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’ current telework policy.  While Caltrans supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate may be required to conduct business travel on behalf of the Department or commute to the headquarted location. Business travel reimbursements considers an employee's designated Headquarters location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations and applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquarted location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

Special Requirements

The statement of qualification shall not exceed 2 pages and, in addition to addressing your qualifications relative to the duty statement, it must address the following:

(1) Describe your experience in compliance reporting and/or working with databases and digital dashboards.

(2) Describe your experience in providing training and/or leading or facilitating meetings and provide examples. (3) Describe circumstances in which you found or designed a solution creatively or pursued a course of action without waiting for instructions to do so.
